Emily Wilson is a native Californian who has lived in New Mexico, Maryland, New York, Spain and India. She went to St. John's College, which has a great books curriculum; to San Francisco State for a master's degree in Adult Education; and to Columbia Journalism School.

Emily worked as a producer for KALW's Your Call and was a reporter covering education, agriculture and the environment for the Half Moon Bay Review. Other jobs have included working as a literacy coordinator, teaching vocational ESL at Jewish Vocational Services, and teaching at a homeless shelter.

Emily lives in San Francisco. Besides writing, she teaches at City College of San Francisco, and works for KCBS.
